LKAB selects Xoomworks to digitally transform with Coupa Source to Pay
International high-tech mining and mineral group that mines and processes iron ore for the global steel market has selected Xoomworks Procurement to be one of its key technology partners in its digital transformation journey. The partnership marks a drive to reducing system risk, enabling better decision making from advanced reporting and improving efficiency for all users in the end-to-end Source to Pay process.
LKAB’s strategy for zero carbon dioxide emissions by 2045 will be achieved by the biggest investment plans and transformational changes in the history of the company’s operations. As the second largest iron ore mining company in the world, Swedish state-owned LKAB will replace its high-risk older systems and create efficient and secure digital processes that will be simplified, time-saving and effectively support future climate investment.
Xoomworks, chosen for its competitive pricing and ability to collaborate with other system integrators, will implement Coupa Source to Pay, the leading cloud-based procurement software that helps increase operational efficiency. Delivered remotely during Covid-19 restrictions, Coupa is a robust cloud-based solution that will support the company’s aims to simplify employee workloads and streamline the decision-making process. Using best practice processes within a fully integrated and automated system, Coupa is a move away from legacy hard-to-maintain customised systems.
Ian Dagg, MD of Xoomworks Procurement says, “We are thrilled to be part of such a large transformation project by one of Europe’s major iron ore producers. Coupa will bring a large range of benefits including visibility, control and compliance to meet LKAB’s business drivers for its procurement organisation. We look forward to working with LKAB”.
Robert Johansson, Supply Chain Excellence Manager, LKAB adds, “LKAB’s Ester project is using the very best practices to transform and digitise mining of iron ore for the steel industry. Coupa Source to Pay is an important part of the technology solution that will eliminate legacy systems and support our future.”
